Clarification of IATA Resolution 753

In response to some membership enquiries, there is NO mandatory requirement for airlines (or their suppliers) to comply with this resolution using an automated solution. IATA’s baggage team have confirmed that a manual system (typically the ‘bingo sheet’) of tracking/reconciliation is acceptable.

ASA, of course, would urge it’s members to support the installation of automated baggage reconciliation systems at the airports they operate at.
